Second Best Friend has a simple business model: For $20, My dog, Odin, and I pick up your dog and take them to the park for an hour.

I work on the simplest and most important commands, "Stay" and "Come", as often as possible and, upon request, stop in at Powell Veterinary Hospital to give your dog treats. This helps them acclimate to the vet. I have some dogs that actually look forward to the vet now! I also send picture and video updates so you can watch the fun and know when they are home.

While you are away, your best friend is most likely home sleeping. Building energy. Giving them a chance to wake up and run full speed serves as double tiring, as it interrupts they're recharging and uses up their energy reserves. They will still go crazy when you get home (it's just what dogs do), but it won't last as long and it will result in fewer accidents.

About Me: My name is Michael Guenther. After working as an accountant for 10 years, I was ready for a career change. I found that dogs were my calling when I worked at the Oregon Humane Society as their temporary Controller. I was soon spending all of my breaks in the kennels, playing with the dogs. When that assignment came to an end in 2019, I began walking dogs. It started small, walking dogs for friends and family, as well as finding new clients through the Rover app. As my business grew, I joined trainer associations, began observing the best trainers in the state, and studying what they wrote so that now, I can do more than tire your dog out, I can help them learn as well.
